Astillero

The first time Emiel Barendsen (Chief programmer at the Tropentheater) was able to see Astillero perform live was when the septet played at the Dias Latinos festival in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. He scouted the group after a recommendation through his Argentine network. Barendsen was very impressed by the Astillero’s performance at the festival and he decided to initiate a series of four concerts for the group in 2008, in cooperation with the world music venues De Doelen in Rotterdam, RASA in Utrecht in Het Zuiderpershuis in Antwerp.
